Who/What
Located within The House (formerly the Nesbitt Inn), Rino’s Kitchen is chef Rino Bortolin’s latest culinary project. The historic 100 year old house is a quaint comfortable setting to enjoy Rino’s freshly prepared menu. The pub offers a full menu focusing on local ingredients and supporting local growers whenever possible. Join us for lunch, dinner, a coffee or a pint. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook or have spoken to me in the last month or so you definitely have heard of our impending menu changes. Because of the success of our WinterBites menu and customers desire for more dinner friendly options we have decided to make some changes to our menu. We have always been a supporter of buying local and supporting local farmers but have not necessarily been in a position to do so on a large scale. Well, we are now. We have teamed up with an enthusiastic local butcher, Jamie Waldron, to bring you all 100% Essex County meats. Jamie is an experienced butcher who is a huge proponent of sourcing local and offers meat share programs through his new website (jamiewaldron.com). We are focusing our efforts on rabbit, lamb, and Berkshire Pork. We are also focusing on using 100% of the animal. We will be curing, smoking, stewing, boiling, grilling, and roasting every piece of the Berkshire pig. Charcuterie and sausages will all be made in house. While the menu will be balanced and still offer many vegetarian options you will notice some obvious omissions such as chicken or beef. Because of the amount of time and effort we’re committing to bringing you 100% local and using 100% of the animal we are sticking to what we can do and what we can do really well. We hope you recognize these efforts and come in to try some of the new menu items. As part of our continuing mission to build a better community through our neighbourhood pub, we are committed to working with Jamie, Ewe Dell Farms, and Wagner Orchards and Farm to bring you the best Essex County has to offer.
